• The Ice Guardian sign uses PIC chip technology and has no moving parts, making it robust and low-maintenance.

• It features an ISO standard ice-crystal warning logo with 6x ultra-bright blue LEDs, which flash when air temperatures reduce to near freezing.

• The unit is self-powered (via 6x AA size internal batteries); and designed for very low power consumption. No mains wiring or mains power supply is needed .

• The unit is weather-sealed, made from recyclable polycarbonate and composite materials.

Installation and Operation

Ice Guardian is designed for flexible installation — it can be easily mounted either on a post or directly onto a wall, depending on your site requirements.

Each Ice Guardian sign arrives powered and ready to install. Once positioned, it automatically monitors ambient temperature. If batteries are removed and reinserted, the sign runs a self-test and a 5-minute demo before returning to normal operation. After relocation, allow several hours for it to acclimatise before relying on readings.

Maintenance is minimal — the only routine task is to replace the AA batteries every few winter seasons, depending on local climate conditions and usage.
